THE ROUTE

Your path to leadership confidence

Course Description

The Route is a free, no obligation resource and introduction to the XSUniversity.  A casually filmed video series, The Route tackles 12 questions most leaders within small businesses will face at one time or another.  Filmed on the spot with no script (like all XSU resources), The Route speaks from experience and gives away tangible ideas to take your leadership forward.  The Route – bringing value not found in any other XSUniversity course…it stands alone.  Enjoy it for free.

Master the Toughest Questions Every Leader Faces.

Transform uncertainty into influence with twelve real-world conversations that reshape how you lead yourself and others.

  • What attributes should I pay the most for?
  • How should I approach self-development?
  • How do I become a person of influence?
  • How do I get followership?
  • How do I get integration of a solution to a problem?
  • How do I build credibility?
  • How do I deal with hard people?
  • How do I begin creating a strategic plan?
  • What is a sneaky hidden trait of a great leader?
  • Why is creating ownership so hard?
  • What do I do when I’m above my skill level?
  • What’s the potential downside of being a collaborative leader?

Marc answers without scripts.  No edits.  One take.  10 minutes or less.

You’ll get a dashboard, the videos will drop every 10 days, then the program ends.

Not a sales gimmick; it’s a free look.  And we do NOT sell your info. XSU is 100% private.

The Route

These are leadership questions that really matter.  I’m sure they are not new…you could get in front of a camera and answer them like I am.  And yet we should always be working to drive our belief systems deeper. Perhaps the greatest value The Route can bring is triggering your own, unique spin-off thoughts about these important topics to anchor your beliefs.

Through The Route, I simply take a shot at answering the questions.  Feel free to borrow from my perspective.

And yet there is another benefit to The Route.

If you decide it has value, The Route could be an on-ramp into the XSUniversity.  The Route allows you to experience a course dashboard without being committed.  It also allows you to see what I’m all about before shelling out for a paid course.  And should you do decide to invest in a paid course, you’ll already have a dashboard ready to roll.  Or if The Route is a one-and-done, the course will auto-end and you’re out.  It’s not a sales gimmick – it’s a free look.

“The Route” is me answering questions brought to me over the years.  They are critical – we all need to be answering them.

As much as possible we draw pictures and teach tangible lessons.

The Route is a small, free offering to the people of business.  You decide if the gift has any value.

The only cost is your time.  So…I guess it’s not free.

"Why The Route may not be for me" and other FAQs:
Who is The Route designed for?

Emerging leaders stepping into new responsibilities or growth.

Why would The Route not be for me?

Probably a style thing.  Marc makes points through analogies and films in odd places.  So, in one he’s with his horse (Moose), in another with his road bike, then in his studio, and on.  You’ll either love this or….maybe you’ll love it.  But if you like tradition, the other courses (reflecting a lesser, but present, lifestyle vibe) may be more for you.

How long will The Route take to complete?

There’s 12 videos.  They are sent every 10 days.  Then it’s over.

What will I get out of The Route?

Teaching in confidence, leadership thinking, self-development, and followership.

How do I access The Route once I enroll?

Just sit there and let the e-mails flow in.

Is The Route mine forever?

Yep.  You can re-watch them.  Or until XSU goes bankrupt and shuts everything down.  That scenario, however, is not part of the XSU Strategic Plan.

When I enroll multiple people, how does that work?

With The Route, it’s best to have everyone sign up on their own.  It’s free so no real need for bulk-purchase like the other offerings.

Where did all the curriculum come from?

For two months, Marc kept in mind issues his clients dealt with.  When the topics were fresh on his mind, he set up the camera and filmed his answers in one take each time.

Marc (course facilitator) is an Exit Planner. What is that?

Most normal people aren’t that impressed, but it is definitely a thing in the business consulting world.  It’s a certification Marc earned from the Exit Planning Institute.  It simply means he has training in building business value and de-risking that compliment his real-world experience.
